Penultimate Jazz Concert Entertains Westfield

The Chuck Lambert Band performed as part of the Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival

On Tuesday evening the Chuck Lambert Band greatly entertained a large crowd in downtown Westfield. Sponsored by the Downtown Westfield Corporation, this performance was part of the Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival.

Chuck Lambert was the lead vocalist and guitar player, and he was joined by a keyboardist, drummer, and another guitarist. Lambert has had a long history with Westfield, as he told the audience that he started playing music in his uncle's house on Elm Street.

The large crowd of about 150 people were very enthusiastic and receptive to the band, as children and senior citizens danced the night away to the sounds of blues and jazz. At one point the band requested audience participation, and most people clapped and sang along to the songs. Encouraging moments for the band came when audience members would clap after intricate instrumental sections.

One female attendee expressed her enjoyment at how the concert was progressing.

Lambert and the band expertly interacted with the audience in a funny and informative manner. The enthusiastic audience was very receptive to the music as well as the anecdotes and jokes. The music mixed the blues and other classic jazz hits in a way that allowed for audience participation.
