Lauren McCarthy, Neighbor

Lauren is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at Drew University in the Arts and Letters program. She also works in the Office of College Admissions at Drew as an Admissions Assistant.

She graduated Cum Laude from Drew University in 2008 with a BA degree in English and a minor in Business, Society and Culture. She was on the Dean's List for eight semesters and included in the 2008 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  While an undergraduate, she was the secretary of CIAO, the Cultural Italian American Organization, and a member of both the Dance Team and Dance Club. As an active student member of the National Italian American Foundation, Lauren traveled to Washington, D.C for the Annual Conference and Gala the past three years (2006-2008) and participated in the Graduates to Leaders Communications Workshop in New York City during June of 2007.    

Lauren has interned for the Tada! Youth Theater in New York City as a production intern during the summer of 2006. She worked as the assistant choreographer for the musical "Everything About Camp (Almost)" and the audition process, rehearsals, and performances were part of "The Biggest Test in the Universe" episode on PBS's  "Reading Rainbow." During the summer of 2007 she was a marketing / public relations apprentice for the New 42nd Street/New Victory Theater in New York City, and a Broadcast Marketing / The Early Show intern for CBS News in New York during the fall of 2007. 

Lauren is a student at Broadway Dance Center in New York City and has trained in intensive workshops with Brian Friedman, Doug Caldwell, and Rhapsody James. She also attends the Pulse dance convention. Lauren plays the piano and is a five-year grant recipient of the Children's Foundation for the Arts for classical piano.
