Drunken Woman Fled After Hitting Parked Car, Police Say

Mountainside resident found in Cranford, faces DWI and other charges.

A Mountainside woman was drunk Wednesday when she struck a parked car in Westfield and fled the scene, police said.

Kimberly Barker, 48, refused a breath test and was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident, police said.

According to police, a witness saw Barker strike a parked car on South Chestnut Street in Westfield. Barker was found with her vehicle on North Avenue and Orchard Street in Cranford where she was arrested shortly after 4 p.m., police said.
