WPD Concludes Investigation in Alleged Attempted Luring; No Arrest Made
Parents of an 8-year-old boy reported that an alleged attempted luring incident took place at noon on Monday, June 25.
Westfield Police Capt. Cliff Auchter said Wednesday afternoon that the Westfield Police Department has concluded its investigation regarding an alleged attempted luring incident that was reported Monday afternoon. No arrest was made. "We have completed our investigation and there is no cause for us to proceed any further," Auchter said. Tuesday morning Auchter confirmed that the WPD was talking with a person of interest after an 8-year-old male resident of the 600 block of Kimball Avenue, who was outside his home, ran indoors and told his parents of an alleged attempted luring.
