Westfield High School Girls and Boys Swim Teams Win State Championships

Blue Devils return from Ewing victorious. The girls team captured its third consecutive victory.

Both the Westfield High School boys and girls swim teams have plenty to celebrate. The teams outswam the competition today at the State Championships at The College of New Jersey in Ewing and returned to Westfield as number one in their groups. For the girls team, defending champs, the 89-81 win over Cherry Hill West is their third consecutive state championship. Today's victory capped their undefeated season of 18 wins. The team also won the state championship in 2008. The boys team took on Bridgewater-Raritan and bested the competition 86-84 to finish the season with a record of 16 wins and two losses.
