Shay Elizabeth was born Wednesday evening.

There's a new spice girl in town. Savory Spice Shop co-owner Jackie Mittelhammer delivered a baby girl, Shay Elizabeth, at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26. Shay, who weighed in at 6 lbs 7 oz., was 19 inches long. She is the first child for Mittelhammer and her husband, Eric.  Within two hours of the news hitting Savory's Facebook page, more than 30 people had sent Mittelhammer and Baby Shay their best wishes. "Aunt Becky" Solheim, Mittelhammer's sister and the shop's co-owner, said the new mom is due back at the East Broad Street spice emporium around Thanksgiving.  As for any plans to create a spice blend in honor of the new addition, Solheim said, "No plans to name a spice after her as of yet..haha! But we may come up with something."
