Feb. 28: A resident of Kimball Circle reported being the victim of identity theft. The victim states that unknown suspect(s) gained access to his checking account and attempted to have checks delivered to an alternate address. He also noticed that the suspect opened a Bloomingdale's credit card in his name as well. March 1: A 31-year-old Scotch Plains man was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at Mountain and Bradford Avenues. Feb. 21: A resident of the 600 block of Shackamaxon Drive reported an act of criminal mischief. While parked at the South Side train station, an unknown suspect keyed her vehicle. A resident from the 800 block of Lamberts Mill Road reports being the victim of a theft. Unknown suspect(s) removed electrical equipment from the residence valued at $1,200. Feb. 12: Joshua Newberg of Tuxford Road was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Scotch Plains Police Officer D. Belford stopped Newberg for a motor vehicle violation on East Second St. in Scotch Plains and while speaking with him smelled a strong odor of alcohol. After Newberg failed several field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest. He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released. Feb. 8: James Ramage, 53, of Westfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) at Shackamaxon Drive and Hyslip Avenue. Ramage was issued a summonses and released to a responsible party. John Fishchetti, 45, of Westfield was arrested in the 100 block of Prospect Street for assault and disorderly conduct. Fischetti was held in lieu of bail.
