'Caps Off to Westfield's Blue Devil' Book Signing Monday at Learning Express

Amy Seid, Claudia Andreski and Erica Pivinski created the picture book to raise money for Education Fund of Westfield.

The authors of 'Caps Off to Westfield's Blue Devil' will sign copies of their picture book from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 18 at Learning Express Westfield at 104 Quimby Street. All proceeds will benefit the Education Fund of Westfield. Written by Education Fund members Amy Seid, Erica Pivinski and Claudia Andreski, the authors began working on the book in May of 2012. Suitable for all ages, the book, which came out in December, follows Westfield schools' mascot as he visits each of the district's 10 schools as well as local landmarks. Tasked with speaking at Westfield High School's graduation ceremony, the Blue Devil takes readers along for the ride as he embarks on a journey through town to gather information before making his speech. …

Jeffrey's Teams With Learning Express for Lunch With Santa

Santa comes to town Saturday, Dec. 15.

Children can share their wish lists with Santa when he visits Learning Express and Jeffrey's of Westfield on Saturday, Dec. 15. The jolly old soul's first stop will be the Quimby Street toy store where he'll stay from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Santa didn't get that belly from skipping meals. The man in the big red suit will swing by Jeffrey's for lunch from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Parents and children can enjoy a two-course meal that features an entree and dessert sure to delight big and little appetites. Learning Express Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Brain Quest

Brain Quest Challenge event on Wednesday, September 19th at 4:00pm.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Brain Quest, the ultimate question and answer game, Learning Express is hosting a Brain Quest Challenge at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19. Children in preschool through sixth grade are invited to attend. The Brain Quest Team will be on hand at the Quimby Street toy and game emporium and will cater to the range of ages by tailoring the activities to meet the grade-level of participants.  "The event is a great way for kids to test their knowledge, have fun and try for some free prizes," said Elaine Jordan, owner of Learning Express. Play Days at Learning Express

Learning Express, an education oriented toy store in Westfield, offers free themed Play Days for children to come into the store and play with toys.

Summer Tuesday evenings mean Jazz Night for Westfielders, and for families with young children they also mean Play Days at Learning Express. For three years, Learning Express has been holding free sessions for young kids to come into the store and play with toys. “We try to tack it on to jazz night, so the people can come into town for jazz night and their kids have something to do,” Learning Express owner Elaine Jordan said. “Maybe the parents want to go down the street for yogurt with the kids after.” Play Days are themed based on the products they have in the store, said Shannon Reilly, who coordinates the Play Days.
