After three days of great youth baseball, the Westfield Knights of Columbus Memorial Day Weekend Charity Baseball Tournament Playoffs begin.
With teams improving by the pitch - win lose or draw, the event's final day of play host the following playoff match-ups at Westfield Gumbert Fields on South Chestnut Street off of North Avenue. There is a Charity Youth Baseball Tournament again this Memorial Day Weekend at Westfield Gumpert Fields! The event benefits local charities, and is held in honor of our past, present, and future troops as well as in memory of the late great Roberto Clemente “The Last True Baseball Hero”, who died on December 31, 1972 bringing relief supplies from his native Puerto Rico to earthquake stricken victims in Nicaragua. Our annual charity tournament attracts talented 11 and 12 year olds Summer Travel Baseball Teams from Westfield to neighboring towns like Cranford, Clark, Florham Park, Madison, Milburn, Morristown and South Plainfield, to name a few. Call it a homerun for baseball players, fans and local charities. The Westfield Knights of Columbus will host the 10th annual Memorial Day Baseball Tournament for 11U and 12U Travel Baseball Teams at Westfield's Gumbert Park and there's still plenty of time to lend a hand. The weekend-long event includes games played on the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 25-28. A special opening ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26.
