A Cup of Coffee With Chris Beck

The Westfield volunteer said he likes to give back to the community any way he can.

Even though Chris Beck commutes to Manhattan daily for his career in the insurance industry, the Westfield resident makes time to volunteer with multiple organizations in town. Beck said his parents moved to Westfield in 1973 and after he returned from college he decided to stay in the area. Community Center Honors MLK With Annual Pancake Breakfast

Velvet Rogers, also a Board member, said proceeds from the breakfast help the Community Center offer its programs throughout the year. "I'm so glad I was able to come," said Josephine Cook, who sat with friends from the Westfield Senior Center. "I live alone and this is so nice." Rosalyn Johnson, Senior Center coordinator…

Two of the evening’s performers—Lalibela and Transit Radio—were made up of Westfield High School students, and Transit Radio’s singer, Colin Barry, acted as the event’s band coordinator. Other bands included Rob Romano and the Seismic Toss from Cranford, Inskagnito from Scotch Plains, and Dubstep Tom all the way from Highland Heights. Barry, a freshman, was tapped to coordinate this and future …
