Brown Avenue Burglary Suspects Arrested Following Foot Chase
Two men from Elizabeth were arrested Friday afternoon in Westfield.
Yeudi Alvarez Hernandez, 22, and Lefty Rodriguez, 23, both of Elizabeth, were arrested and charged in connection with a home burglary on the 900 block of Brown Avenue in Westfield on Friday, Jan. 11, according to the Westfield Police Department. A neighbor reported two suspicious males in the area and responding police officers located the suspects inside the residence. They attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended following a brief foot chase. Hernandez and Rodriguez were transported to the Westfield Police Department, where they were charged with burglary to a residence, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and obstructing administration of law. They were processed and committed to Union County Jail with bail set at $20,000.
