Arrest Made in Race Star Armed Robbery

Imran Ivery, 26, of Irvington was arrested on May 25 and charged with armed robbery.

Imran Ivery, 26, of Irvington was arrested on Friday, May 25 and charged with armed robbery of the Race Star gas station located at 801 W. South Ave. in Westfield, according to Westfield Police Chief David Wayman. During the robbery, which occurred in the early evening of Friday, March 30, Ivery allegedly held the station's attendant at gunpoint and told him, "Give me the money or I'll shoot you. I have a gun." The suspect then fled the station with $300 in cash and the attendant's cell phone after locking him inside the bay area of the gas station. Race Star Station Robber Left With $300 and Cell Phone

The gas station, located at 801 South Ave., was robbed at gunpoint before 7 p.m. on Friday, March 30.

The Westfield Police Department confirmed that the suspect who robbed the South Avenue Race Star gas station Friday, March 30 got away with $300 in cash and the station attendant's cell phone. Westfield Police Capt. Cliff Auchter said the robbery occurred before 7 p.m. "It is believed the suspect is armed with a handgun," Auchter said. "After the attendant gave him all the money he had, around $300, the suspect locked him into the bay area of the gas station." After the suspect left, the attendant came out just as a car pulled into the gas station, Auchter said. Update: Race Star Station Attendant Robbed at Gunpoint Friday Night

The Westfield Police Department confirmed a robbery occurred Friday evening.

The Westfield Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Coastal gas station located at 801 South Ave. near Cumberland Street and Tuttle Parkway Friday evening.  According to police, the suspect stated that he had a handgun and money was taken from the attendant, though police would not confirm the amount. An employee of the station who was not on duty at the time the robbery took place said the attendant "handed over all the cash he had in his pockets and the guy took off." The suspect is male but no other details are known. Police are checking the surrounding area to see if the crime was caught on video. The station was robbed in August of 2011. Suspect Sought in Armed Robbery of Turning Point

A male black between 20 and 30 years of age is suspected of robbing the Central Avenue eatery at gunpoint at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

A suspect is being sought in the armed robbery that occurred at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Turning Point restaurant, according to the Westfield Police Department. He is described as a black male, between 20 and 30 years of age, approximately 6'2" with an athletic build, facial hair on his chin and short hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a polo shirt and a black jacket. State Police worked with the WPD to create the composite sketch. Wayman said the immediate area was canvassed last evening and businesses on Central Avenue and part of East Broad Street were made aware of the incident. Armed Robbery at Turning Point Wednesday Evening

The manager at the Central Avenue eatery was robbed at gunpoint at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

An armed robbery occurred at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Turning Point restaurant, according to the Westfield Police Department. "An individual entered the restaurant Turning Point through the back door," said Westfield Police Captain David Wayman. "He engaged the manager in a discussion. When the manager turned his back and turned back again, the subject was brandishing a handgun. "He demanded money. The manager complied and gave him the money that was available and the subject fled out the back door, the same way he entered."
