Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield West Beautifies 9-11 Memorial Grounds

Cleanup was part of companywide "Care Days" Event

Several sales associates from the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield West office cleaned up the gardens at the Westfield 9-11 Memorial and planted flowers donated by the Downtown Westfield Corporation on Thursday, April 25 as part of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y.’s regional “Cares Days” event.  Cares Days is supporting local communities and organizations that benefit local communities through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, from April 25-27. Glass Panel on Westfield's 9/11 Memorial Shattered by Vandals

The Westfield Police Department is investigating an act of vandalism that has destroyed one of the glass panels on Westfield's 9/11 memorial. The etched pane on the west side of the monument was smashed by an unknown suspect or suspects with an unknown object, according to police. The act is believed to have occurred earlier this week.  Memorial Park, located at North Avenue and East Broad Street, was dedicated on Sept. 21, 2002 and honors all the victims who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.The obelisk displays the names of all the victims while the 12 granite pillars that surround it are dedicated to each of the 12 Westfielders who perished in the terrorist attacks: Andrew J. (PHOTOS) County 9/11 Memorial Brings Light to Darkness

Union County held a candlelight memorial at Echo Lake Park on the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

This evening, the 60 Union County residents who perished in the 9/11 attacks were remembered in a solemn ceremony marked by candlelight at the Union County September 11th Memorial in Echo Lake Park in Mountainside. Members of the Honor Guard presented the national colors as attendees lighted candles and read names of those lost engraved on the memorial. The memorial includes two girders from the World Trade Center arranged within a five-sided area representing the Pentagon, and includes an eternal flame representing those who died in Pennsylvania as well as members of the Armed Services and emergency responders. The memorial was dedicated on September 13, 2003, and was constructed through private donations including in-kind work by labor …

Gov. Christie releases statement; Union County memorial tonight in Echo Lake Park.

On the 11th anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, both the State of New Jersey and Union County are remembering those lost in the attacks. The 60 Union County residents who perished in the 9/11 attacks will be remembered with a ceremony this evening at the Union County September 11th Memorial in Echo Lake Park in Mountainside. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Members of the Honor Guard will be on site presenting the national colors. Attendees be able to light candles in memory of those lost in the attacks. The names of the 60 deceased Union County residents are etched into the memorial. County to Hold 9/11 Memorial in Echo Lake Park

On Sept. 11, Union County will remember County residents lost during 9/11 at the Union County September 11th Memorial in Echo Lake Park.

The 60 Union County residents who perished in the 9/11 attacks will be remembered with a ceremony on Tuesday evening at the Union County September 11th Memorial in Echo Lake Park in Mountainside. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Members of the Honor Guard will be on site presenting the national colors. Attendees be able to light candles in memory of those lost in the attacks. “The members of the Freeholder Board hope that the September 11th Memorial can serve as a place of reverence and bring the community together to represent hope, strength and, more importantly, freedom,” said Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella in a release.
