The Junior Women's Club of Westfield is a community service organization founded in 1927. Through monthly meetings…More and various social events, the club provides women with the chance to meet new friends, participate in community service activities and raise funds for community organizations.
The club participates in the Adopt-a-Family program, sponsors the town-wide spelling bee, raises money for a scholarship fund, holds a shopping fundraiser to provide gift cards for needy children, works with Habitat for Humanity and Dress for Success, collects toys for Children's Specialized Hospital and sponsors a coat drive for local charities. The Club hosts one major fundraiser and several minor fundraisers a year. Examples of past major fundraisers include a wine pairing and auction, and a children's fashion show. Meetings are held monthly at the YMCA on Clark Street.
Social programs include a holiday party featuring a Yankee gift swap, a progressive dinner, a catered spring barbeque and the annual president's dinner.
From September through May, the Club meets on the first Wednesday evening of each month at 7:30pm. The meetings are held at the Westfield YMCA.
