One of Westfield's six elementary schools, McKinley School has maintained a strong commitment to community service. This includes students working with the Rotary Club to assist a Head Start program in East Harlem. During the 2007 - 2008 school year, students read a total of 16,000 books. The active Parent Teacher Organization includes volunteers in the library and classrooms, evening programs for the students, a Family Reading Night and fundraisers to benefit student programs.
