Franklin Elementary School
One of Westfield's six public elementary schools, Franklin School prides itself on the school's outdoor garden, where students study plants, herbs, flowers, shrubs and vegetables planted by members of the Habitat Club. The school has a character education program and volunteer service opportunities for students, including the Two Lunch Tuesday program, which has Franklin families donating meals to a local service center. All third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms have interactive whiteboards to integrate technology into the classroom. The school features an active Student Council and a bi-monthly student newspaper.
The Parent Teacher Organization has volunteers in Franklin classrooms, cafeteria and Habitat Garden. The PTO runs the Book Fair, cultural assemblies and the Franklin School Store. The PTO also organizes the annual Pumpkin Fair each fall, an annual town-wide event for children and families. The Principal of Franklin Elementary School is Eileen Cambria.
