OPEN AIR AND OPEN MINDS

Thoughts of being outdoors this spring can now become a reality for students at Roosevelt Intermediate School in Westfield.  Thanks to funding from the school’s Parent Teacher Student Organization, the Student Council, and the Education Fund of Westfield, Roosevelt now has an outdoor classroom.  Teachers can schedule their classes in the new open air space adjacent to the school and constructed with a low wall which can be used for seating.  Standing (l-r) on the new pavers during the dedication held on Tuesday, April 8, are 8th graders Owen Heim and Matt Meusel, Kim Schumacher (counselor), Ava Luzzi (grade 7), Emily Boll (grade 8), and  7th graders Jenny O'Connell and Brianna Hatch.
