Thanksgiving, Hanukkah Events in Westfield This Week

What you need to know the week of Thanksgiving in Westfield.

Westfield Football: The Blue Devils will take on Plainfield at Kehler Stadium to continue a Thanksgiving rivalry at 11 a.m. The rivalry is one of five in New Jersey nominated for the best rivalry by USA Today. There's still time to vote!

Turkey Trot: Westfield Running Company will host its annual 5 Mile Turkey Trot on Nov. 30 in Tamaques Park. This is the 30th anniversary of the event. To register visit the website at, http://www.westfieldturkeytrot.com/.

Hanukkah: The Union County Torah Center is hosting a public menorah lighting on Wednesday to kick off Hanukkah. The event takes place at the Westfield Train Station on the North Side at 7 p.m.

Hanukkah Temple Emanu-El: A Hanukkah lighting will take place on the front lawn of Temple Emanu-El at 7:30 p.m. on Friday followed by a Festive Chanukah Erev Shabbat service at 7:45. More of the Temple’s events can be found, here. 

Tree Lighting: The Town of Westfield’s Annual Tree Lighting will take place on Dec. 1 at the North Avenue train station. The lighting will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus: Between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Lord & Taylor for holiday photos. Hours are Friday and Saturday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Westfield Fire Department will escort Santa and Mrs. Claus with a Westfield Police escort to the tree lighting.
