AppleFest, Restaurant Week, Children's Book Sale and More

Here's what you need to know this week in Westfield.

What you need to know the week of Sept. 30.

Anti-bullying presentation:
The Westfield school district is hosting an anti-bullying presentation on Monday night in the WHS auditorium. “Ryan’s Story” features the unique perspective on bullying from the father of a teen boy, Ryan, who killed him after being bullied by his peers. The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Board of Ed meeting: The board will host its official meeting at 302 Elm Street on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.

Sports

Sept. 30: Girls Tennis vs. Bridgewater-Raritan (home) at 4 p.m.

Oct. 1: Boys soccer vs. Elizabeth (away) at 4 p.m. Gov. Livingston vs. Westfield (home) at 4 p.m. Girls Soccer vs. New Providence (away) at 4 p.m. Field Hockey vs. Oak Knoll (away) at 4 p.m. Girls Gymnastics vs. Elizabeth (Home) at 4:30 p.m.

Oct. 2:
Girls Tennis vs. Linden (Home) at 4 p.m.

Oct. 3:
Girls Volleyball vs. Elizabeth (Home) TBA, Field Hockey vs. Johnson (Home) at  4p.m. Girls Soccer vs. East Brunswick (away) at 4:15 p.m. Girls Gymnastics vs. Union (Home) at 4:30 p.m.

Oct. 4:
Football vs. Hunterdon Central (away) at 7 p.m.

Oct. 5:
Girls Soccer vs. Kearny (away) at 1 p.m.

Restaurant Week:
Westfield’s annual Restaurant Week kicked off Sunday and runs through Oct. 10. Participating restaurants will offer $10, $20 and $30 dining options. Over 20 establishments are participating this year! Read more, here.

Children’s Book Sale: The Third Annual Children’s Book Sale, sponsored by the Friends of Westfield Memorial Library, will be held on Thursday and Friday, with a bag day on Saturday. Donations will be accepted on Tuesday and Wednesday. Only books and DVDs will be accepted.

Apple Fest: The Westfield Historical Society’s Fifth Annual Apple Fest is this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
