Westfield Garden Club Decorates Downtown

Containers will be maintained year-round by the Garden Club.

Members of the Westfield Garden Club were busy decorating for the holiday season on Thursday morning.

On the corners of Broad Street and Elm Street, members arranged pine garland and ribbons over containers to create a festive holiday look.

The club has a number of projects in Westfield to encourage civic beautification. The containers that currently have a holiday theme are planted and maintained year-round with pansies in the spring, summer flowers, and fall cabbages.

Rosemary Shire and Co-President Jane Curtis were two of the club members who were a part of this year’s downtown decorating team. Jane Curtis commented that the club members enjoy the work they do for the community very much.

The Garden Club of Westfield was founded in 1922 and it is federated with the Garden Club of New Jersey and with the National Council of State Garden Clubs.
