Weekend at a Glance

Weekend looks to be action packed.

Westfield will be hopping this weekend, with a variety of events for the entire family:

Play for Pink Friday evening: The Westfield High School volleyball team and the WHS Breast Cancer Awareness Club are sponsoring a Play for Pink volleyball game as a fundraiser for breast cancer. The game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. against Union Catholic and will include a charity serving contest at 6:30 p.m.

Farmers Market Saturday: The Chamber of Commerce Farmers Market continues Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in the south side train station parking lot.

Special Olympics Fundraiser Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Westfield Soccer Association will be sponsoring a Special Olympics fundraiser at Kehler Stadium.

Home and Hearth Tour Saturday: The Holy Trinity Home and School Association will be sponsoring a tour of seven kitchens around Westfield as a fundraiser during the day on Saturday. The tour will feature presentations about kitchen trends and a cooking demonstration. Tickets are required.

AppleFest Saturday at 1 p.m.: The Westfield Historical Society will be sponsoring AppleFest at the Reeve House on Mountain Avenue. The event will feature an apple pie baking contest among other activities.

Light the Night Walk Saturday at 5:30 p.m.: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be sponsoring the Light the Night Walk on the front lawn of the Presbyterian Church.

Breast Cancer Ribbons Sunday at 9 a.m.: The Susan G. Koman Foundation will be putting up pink breast cancer awareness ribbons around town.

Westfield United Fund Sundae on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.: The Westfield United Fund is sponsoring an ice cream sundae social on the north side lawn of the train station.
