PTOs Sell Plants to Honor the Mothers of Westfield

School children enjoy annual plant sales.

Schools across Westfield were honoring Mom two days early on Friday when the Parent Teacher Organizations held Mother's Day plant sales.

With the traditions varying per school, students came and purchased plants for their Moms and enjoyed some time outside. At McKinley School, the plant sale occurred during the day, with students getting the chance to come outside and choose a special plant. Desks around the school during the day - the school's annual Science Day - featured plants on the desks waiting for presentation as a gift.

At Tamaques School, the PTO held the plant sale - and a bake sale - after school. The school's back patio was filled with students and parents as children crowded the tables looking for a special plant for their mothers. Others were picking up pre ordered plants. Many Tamaques fathers could be seen at the tables looking for a plant to buy.
