United Fund hosts Ice Cream Sundae on train station lawn.

The train station lawn on North Avenue was hopping Sunday afternoon as the Westfield United Fund kicked off their new fundraising campaign with an old fashioned ice cream sundae social.

The social featured ice cream from Rita's, Cold Stone and Eddy's, along with sprinkles and chocolate fudge for attendees. With a steady flow in and out, the United Fund talked about their fundraising, along with the decision this spring to leave the United Way and focus on being a locally focused charity. The fund also debuted their new colors of green and white.

"We are hoping to attract a younger crowd and we have," United Fund Executive Director Linda Maggio said of the event.
