Photo and Video Gallery: March Remembers Dr. King

Annual march honors civil rights leader.

The crowd slowly walked through the center of downtown, traffic at a standstill, watching, listening, remembering. The crowd sang civil rights era songs and carried signs about discussing a message of peace and nonviolence.

The annual march in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. kicked off shortly after Noon Monday heading from the South Avenue traffic circle, through downtown and ending at the First Baptist Church, the site of the annual King Day service. The march included  variety of town leaders and was led by Rev. Robert Taylor from St. Luke's AME Zion Church and high school principal Peter Renwick.
