Junior Women's Club of Westfield Raises $35,000 for CASA

The club's March benefit was a big success.

The Junior Women's Club of Westfield hosted its annual gala on Saturday, March 24 and raised $35,000 for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Union County.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to discover the best outcome for an abused or neglected child’s future, explained event co-chair Carol Rickert. The goal of CASA is to see that every one of these children is placed into a safe and permanent home, she said.

The Carribbean-themed event took place at The Westwood in Garwood and featured a steel drum band, DJ, buffet fare and open bar as well as a silent and live auction.
