Last Chance: Dine at Jersey Mike's Today for a Good Cause

Half of the proceeds of items purchased at the Westfield sub shop today will be donated to the family of Margaret Kritsch Anderson.

The Westfield  on East Broad Street is a hosting a "Make a Difference Day" today to benefit the family of slain park ranger 

Anderson, a 1995 graduate, was killed on New Year's Day while on duty at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington. The 34 year old left behind a husband and two young daughters. Anderson's father, Paul Kritsch, is the pastor of

Bryan Callahan of Jersey Mike's said March is typically the sub shop's "Month of Giving." He explained that throughout the entire month the eatery collects donations and then selects a day during which 50 percent of the proceeds of items purchased are donated as well.

Callahan explained that the sandwich shop's owner has a connection to Redeemer Lutheran Church and when the tragedy occurred "it was put on his heart" to help out in any way he could. He said it was decided at that time that this would be the charity the shop contributed to this year.

This is Jersey Mike's second annual "Month of Giving" fundraising campaign, with "Make a Difference Day" taking place nationwide to benefit a variety of charities.
