Sept. 11 Services Planned at Union County Memorial

The public is invited to the ceremony on Sept. 11 to be held at Echo Park in Mountainside.

Members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders will pay tribute this year to the 60 Union County residents killed on 9/11 with a ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 6-9 p.m.

The ceremony, to be held at the Union County Sept. 11 Memorial at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside, will consist of an honor guard presentation and candle lighting in memory of those killed that the public is invited to attend, according to a release from the county.

“Union County’s Sept. 11 Memorial serves as a place to remember our residents who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, and a location that allows for peace and reflection that gives us strength to continue to move forward,” said Freeholder Chairman Linda Carter.
