Union Rugby Club Marks 10th Anniversary with Rugby Day - Sunday, April 27!

The Union County Rugby Football Club will hold a 10th Anniversary Party on Sunday, April 27th at Unami Park in Westfield. The “Rugby Day” is a celebration of all aspects of the sport along with lots of food and fun! The program starts at 9:00am and includes games with the U12, U14, U16 and Girls teams.

The U18 teams will play Princeton at 2:00pm.  There will be food and music throughout the day and various local charities will have displays.  Rugby Day is a great way to introduce children to the great team-oriented sport.

The Union Mudturtles have been doing very well this season.  In their last home game at Kehler Stadium on April 6, Union’s U18A squad handily defeated West Milford 48 - 5.  In the first half, Union’s Khalil Burns started off the scoring and the Mudturtles led for the rest of the game.  Mike Hughes, Jatece Wright, Jonadony Brevette, Nick Ballas and Kevin Trotter also scored for the Mudturtles. Union Flyhalf Michael Dabulas made 6 conversions throughout the game.  This victory, along with 3 wins in the Maryland International Youth Rugby Festival on April 12-13 brings Union’s record to 7-0!
