The Birthday Box - up for a $500 grant!

For the 2nd year, PNC Bank is running it's "PNC Neighborhood Wishlist" program that offers funding of up to $500 to projects that make our neighborhoods stronger. The Birthday Box, your very own Westfield-based non-profit, was selected as one of the 100 programs, out of a whopping 1,000!

Now we need your votes to help us get the 500 votes we need to be granted $500. This $500 will do amazing things for kids in our town and the surrounding areas – it will give us the money to purchase party items, including plates, napkins, candles and decorations, for 90 birthday boxes! That's 90 kids who will have a ton of supplies to have fabulously festive parties. So help us out – actually, help a kid in need out – and vote today!  It's super easy, will take you mere seconds  (I promise) and you're doing good. Just click here and vote now:  http://bit.ly/16B1ROM.

Thanks for your support! We hope you come back to our blog to read more about The Birthday Box activities, along with ideas and tips on how to bring fun and celebration into your kids lives on their birthday and every day of the year.

And, in case you want to know a bit more about us, check out www.thebirthdaybox.org or read on below.

Our mission is to anonymously gift kids in need with a birthday celebration. We help families who can't acknowledge a child's birthday because providing a cake or gift is financially impossible. We fill that small but significant burden, one birthday at a time, by working with local organizations to identify the children in need. Then we gift them with an instant birthday party, right out of the recycled box it comes in. The Birthday Box delivers everything a child needs to celebrate, including forks for eating cake (as well as a delicious cake to boot!) and napkins for wiping happy, crumb-adorned faces, and finally decorations and a wrapped gift.
