Ready to Dive In? Memorial Pool Opens Saturday

After the recent heat wave, swimmers young and old can cool off at the when it opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2. 

The Westfield Memorial Pool Complex is public swim club open to both Westfield and non-Westfield residents, offering a 50 meter 165' x 75' pool, 40' x 60' diving pool, training pool and kiddie pool, concession stand and picnic area. For a complete list of prices, click here. 

Here's what you need to know:

During the weeks of June 4 and June 11, the pool will be open from 4 to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.

Regular hours are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays: 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Wednesdays: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sat., Sun., & Holidays 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Kiddie pool only: 

Weekdays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.:

(For member parents and children under 10 yrs.) 

Office Hours for I.D. Photos:

Each new member will be required to present a barcode-digital photo ID issued by the Recreation Department to enter the pool complex. Cards may be obtained during business hours as well as the extended office hours, 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, and 9 a.m. - noon, Saturday,  June 2.

Returning members may use their cards from previous years. 

Swim Lessons: Register during regular office hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Swimmers must be at least 5 years old and a pool member when the session begins.

• Cost is $40 per child, per session

• Checks are made payable to Westfield Memorial Pool

• Classes are Tuesdays through Fridays for 30 minutes.

• Lessons are NON-REFUNDABLE

Please note: Members can only register for children who are on their family membership. Lesson times are not exchangeable.

Sessions Offered:

1 Session: June 26 thru July 13

2nd Session: July 17 thru Aug. 3

3rd Session: Aug. 7 thru Aug. 24

Beginner and Advanced Beginner Class Times:

9 a.m.; 9:30 a.m.; 10 a.m.; 10:30 a.m.; 11 a.m.

Intermediate Class Times:

9 a.m.; 9:30 a.m.; 10 a.m.

Swimmer Class Times:

9 a.m. or 9:30 a.m.

Fearful Beginner Class Times:

10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.

Family Movie Nights

Family movie nights will be held at the Pool Complex on select Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Dates will be announced. Admission is free but donations are appreciated. 

Teen Night Swims  

The pool will host teen night swims 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning June 27 through August 29. Teen Swims are offered to all Westfield resident teens completing 5th through 8th grade. The cost is $5. Student I.D. is required    

Swim Team:

Swim registration will take place Wednesday-Friday May 30,31 and June 1 at the Recreation Office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• Swim Team is offered to Members ages 6 to 18 only. (Age as of 1/1/12)

• A non-refundable $15.00 registration fee is required. Checks payable to WMP or Exact Cash.

• Tryouts and practices, times and age groups will be available at registration.

• Team practice times and any additional information will be distributed at registration.
