WHS Boys Swim Team Wins Second Consecutive State Championship

No. 3 Westfield defeated No 2. Bridgewater-Raritan, 97-73

The Westfield High School boys swim team ruled the pool for the second year in a row at the Public A State Championship at The College of New Jersey.

No. 3 Westfield took on No. 2 Bridgewater-Raritan and came out on top, 97-73. The boys received a standing ovation when they clinched the meet, winning first, second and fourth place in the 100-yard Breaststroke. Taking first place was Tyler Lessner, with a time of 1:02.6.

Westfield finished in the top three spots during the 100-yard Butterfly. Finishing first was Stephen Husch, with a time of 53.11.

A parade, ending at Westfield High School, is planned to welcome home the winning team at approximately 6 p.m. tonight.
