Westfielders Organize 'Run for Alli'

Friends of hit-and-run victim Allison Lowenstein have organized a run in her honor.

It has been several weeks since , was hit by a motorist who fled the scene while she was jogging in Harriman State Park, NY.

Friends are doing what they can to send "good vibeZ to Alli," who was left in critical condition following the accident.

From 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, friends of Lowenstein and her family will gather at for a fun run in her honor.

The  graduate and cross country runner was jogging down Seven Lakes Drive west of the intersection of Lake Welch Drive in Harriman State Park between 5 and 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, when she was hit. State Park Police Detective Sgt. Steven Huff said Monday, July 23 that the investigation isand added that police are following plenty of leads. 

A  is being offered by New York State Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver, according to a report by The Journal News.

According to a Facebook page that details the event on Aug. 18, Lowenstein "is on the road to recovery" but her friends want to bring everyone together to support her and her family.

"Alli loves to run, so come join us on Saturday, August 18 and RUN for ALLI!!!" the site reads.

"We will be raising money for Friends of Westfield Track & Field and a charity of Alli's choice. 

-Meet by the Shuffleboard courts

-Make a donation and run (or walk) a few laps for Alli!
