Westfield Serves Up Pizza Race Wednesday

The 11th annual 5k and pizza extravaganza happens Wednesday, July 25 but registration ends at midnight.

This summer's extreme heat has not discouraged runners from signing up for the 11th annual Downtown Westfield 5K and Pizza Extravaganza, an event which combines a scenic run with pizza, beverages and live music.

More than 1,700 participants are registered to hit this streets of Westfield Wednesday, July 25 for one of New Jersey's largest and most successful races.

If you haven't registed yet, you have until midnight. Online registration is still available at PracticeHard.com. The cost is $30 per entrant and $28 for USATF members. New this year, the first 2,000 runners will receive a Tech Shirt.

Parking, both on-street and in municipal lots, will be free starting at 4:30 p.m. The race begins at 7 p.m. on E. Broad Street and N. Euclid Avenue. Click here to view the USATF-certified course map. T-shirt and D-tag pick-up starts at 5 p.m.Water stops will be available along the route.

Proceeds from the race will be used for downtown Westfield streetscape improvements such as new street lights, sidewalks, crosswalks, landscaping and similar projects.
