New Jersey’s 7th ranked Blue Devils Boys Cross Country team was the clear underdog in this year’s Group 4 Championship, which took place on Nov 17.   Earlier this season, #6 ranked West Windsor-Plainsboro South, with its top three runners returning from last year, had posted strong times at Holmdel Park.   Although only three of the Westfield runners had raced at Holmdel this season, all seven Blue Devils posted personal records times. However, West Windsor ran the fastest average team time that any Westfield team has faced in Group 4. As in the Sectional race, North Hunterdon held a lead over Westfield at the two mile mark, but Westfield powered through the last mile to pull out second place finish.

The race featured 10 of the top 20 teams in the state, with #8 Ranked North Hunterdon taking third place in the race. Matt Luppino took 3rd place, and was followed across the line by Kevin Smith, Rob Marczydlo, Michael Reilly, Dan Luzzi, Philip Edwards, and Jason Colasanti.
