Westfield Boys and Girls Swim Teams Win State Semi-Finals

Teams to compete in state championships Saturday.

Westfield High School boys and girls swim teams emerged from the pool victorious at the State Semi-finals Tuesday in Princeton.

The Westfield boys team bested Hunterdon Central, 93-77, making their record 14-2-0 for the season.

The No. 1 ranked girls team beat No. 6 Hillsborough, 86-84, making their season's record 16-0-0.

Both teams will compete in the State Finals Saturday at The College of New Jersey. The boys team will swim at 2 p.m. and the girls team will compete at 3:45 p.m. In the event that either or both the boys and girls teams win, as they did in 2012, Westfield will welcome the swimmers home with a "ticker tape" parade, expected to begin at approximately 6 p.m.
