Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Team Has an Outstanding Meet

Twenty-eight athletes from the Flyers Track Club were among the over 700 athletes that participated in the NJ Striders Track Meet at Fair Lawn High School on May 5th, 2013. 

The Flyers had 28 top-10 finishes and set 7 team records. Below is a listing of all the athletes who had top-3 finishes in their events:

Girls 9-10 Division: Abigail Granrath finished 3rd in 1500m run

Girls 11-12 Division: Nicole Massa finished 1st in the Turbo Javelin and 2nd in the discus

Girls 13-14 Division: Cindy Qiang finished 2nd in the 3000m run; Melissa Endy finished 1st in the 1500m race walk; and Jessica Brown finished 2nd in the 200 meter hurdles

Boys 9-10 Division: William McGlynn finished 2nd in the 1500m run

Boys’ 13-14 Division: Ryan Bebel finished 3rd in the 1500m run and 2nd in the 3000m run

Boys 15-16 Division: Ryan VanBenschoten finished 1st in the 200m hurdles and 1st in the Turbo JavelinThe Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF certified club that serves over 600 athletes throughout the year.  The current Spring Track season lasts until May 17th.
