Weather Pushes Games to Sunday, New Schedule Set

Baseball, softball state championship games postponed to Sunday.

There has been no announcement of changes to the Tournament of Champions lacrosse games at Kean University on Saturday night. 

This is the new softball and baseball schedule for Sunday as released by the NJSIAA:

Baseball

  • Group 1 Final – Pompton Lakes v Middlesex – 3:30 p.m. at Toms River South
  • Group 2 Final – Mahwah v Cinnaminson – 12:30 p.m. at Toms River South
  • Group 3 Final – Cranford v Burlington Township – 12:30 a.m. at Toms River East
  • Group 4 Final – Westfield v Eastern – at 3:30 p.m. at Toms River North
  • Non-Public A Final – Seton Hall Prep v Gloucester Catholic - 3:30 p.m. at Toms River East
  • Non-Public B Final – Morris Catholic v Rutgers Prep – 12:30 p.m. at Toms River North

At the moment the Lacrosse Tournament of Champions finals at Kean University are still on as scheduled. 

Baseball and softball games have been pushed to Sunday. A confirmed schedule has not yet been released. It looks as if games will take place in the same order at the same locations. Times may be adjusted. Check back with Patch for an updated schedule.

Spring sports for New Jersey's high schools are winding down but not before champions are decided. Saturday has a large slate of games where hardware will be handed out. 

That is unless Tropical Storm Andrea has anything to say about it. According to NJ.com, no postponement plans have been set up despite the heavy rain expected.

The NJSIAA lacrosse Tournament of Champions for both boy and girls will come to an end at Kean University Saturday evening. 

The 18-2 Don Bosco Prep Ironmen will face off against the 19-3 Red Devils of Ridge High School at 5 p.m. for the boys title.

The 19-2 Shawnee girls lacrosse team will have the chance to end Moorestown’s bid for an undefeated 24-0 season and a NJSIAA Tournament of Champions crown in the nightcap.

Softball and baseball teams from all over the state will descend on Toms River for the finals of the NJSIAA championships.
