Downtown Westfield Draws Plenty of Shoppers on Small Business Saturday

Check out more about Small Business Saturday in Westfield.

Locals hit the streets of Downtown Westfield for annual Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30 and shared with Patch why they shop small.

Small Business Saturday was created by American Express in 2010 and has become an annual event between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The day serves as a way to highlight local businesses that help to make communities special.

Last year, consumers who knew about Small Business Saturday spent $5.5 billion with independently-owned businesses on that day, according to Small Business Saturday Insights Survey.

Westfield Patch set up outside of Robert Treat on Quimby to greet shoppers. Patch and American Express partnered to offer free meter parking on Quimby and Central.
