WHS Student Council Collects 1500 Items at Food Drive

Items donated to Holy Trinity food pantry.

The Westfield High School Student Council's annual food drive this year collected 1,500 items from the WHS community to help needy families in town and the surrounding area.

The items have been donated to the food pantry at Holy Trinity Church on First Street. The church said the items will help keep the pantry well stocked during the traditional Thanksgiving and holiday season rush. The pantry is coordinated by Holy Trinity, which works with the town Department of Human Services and other groups to coordinate the work of the group.

The food drive is a WHS tradition, coordinated annually by the student council. The food drive is open to all students, staff and faculty at the high school and traditionally pulls in a large donation for the local pantry.
