WHS Readies for Annual Homecoming Festivities

Parade, powder puff game and bonfire kick off the long holiday weekend.

Excitement is in the air as Westfield High School students and faculty prepare for Wednesday afternoon's Homecoming events. While last year's festivities, planned by the WHS student council, were canceled due to rain, forecasts for tomorrow are looking great, with sunny skies and a high of 53 degrees.

The parade, powder puff game and bonfire lead up to the longtime Thanksgiving Day rivalry as the Westfield Blue Devils take on the Plainfield Cardinals at 11 a.m. at Hub Stine Field located at 1410 Randolph Road in Plainfield.

Admission to the powder puff game is $3, while the teams who play in Indian Pin will pay $14. Food and gear will be for sale at the bonfire and proceeds will be donated to the Westfield United Fund to help local storm victims.

All Westfield public schools will hold a four-hour session on Wednesday and all schools will be closed on Friday.
