Westfielder Selected to Chair St. Peter's Prep Lenten Mission Drive

The goal of this year's Mission Drive is $30,000 and will be raised by students in a variety of ways.

William Lavelle, '13, of Westfield, has been selected to serve as chair of Saint Peter's Prep Lenten Mission Drive this year. Lavelle addressed the school at the Ash Wednesday service and explained that this year's drive would benefit three causes close to the hearts of many Prep students and faculty.

The Working Boys Center in Quito, Ecuador, Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, and the Jesuit mission in Bethel, Alaska will be the beneficiaries of the drive.  Prep students will travel to the three sites this year for service work. The goal of this year's Mission Drive is $30,000 and will be raised by students in a variety of ways, including dress-down days, concerts, bake sales, and the like.

Lavelle is the son of Linda and Bill Lavelle and is a graduate of Roosevelt Intermediate School in Westfield.
