Westfield Students Start College Before Finishing High School

Two WHS students will start college on Saturday, Aug. 18.

Most 9th, 10th and 11th graders are still enjoying the summer. But these local students, who earned a place in the Bard College at Simon's Rock fall 2012 entering class, will be starting college on Saturday, August 18:

  • Gregory Inamine will start college after completing 11th grade at Westfield High School.
  • Nathaniel Shoobs will start college after completing 10th grade at Westfield High School.

Impressive academic and personal achievements secured these students a spot at Simon's Rock this fall. The campus in Great Barrington, Massachusetts is home to over 400 bright and highly motivated students engaged in a rigorous college education. Early college students are on track to graduate from college one or two years ahead of their peers.

"Simon's Rock receives a number of outstanding applications every year," Steven Coleman, director of Admission said. "In a highly selective process, their remarkable academic and extracurricular achievements stood out."
