Westfield PTC-Special Education Committee Hosts IEP Roundtable

The special education committee will host a meeting on Jan. 15.

The Westfield Special Education Community for an evening of education and insightful conversation on Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m.  at the Edison Intermediate School Library.

Between 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. the staff of Special Services Department will present and from 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. the parent break-out groups and discussions will take place.

The Annual Review Season is approaching and the special education committee wants parents to be prepared and knowledgeable about the IEP process so you can be the best advocate for your child. The staff of the Department of Special Services will present regarding transitioning to the next grade level, changes in services or accommodations or new services being implemented in the district.

There will be a brief question and answer session following the presentation. Directly following this presentation, parents will form breakout groups divided by Preschool/Elementary/Middle/High School ages.  The objective is to determine appropriate goals, accommodations and services for the children.
