Westfield High School Students Win UNICO Essay Contest

Annual Westfield UNICO essay contest highlights the accomplishments of Italian Americans.

Westfield High School Sophomore Jason Previlon and Senior Jeff Marino (l-r) won the annual Westfield UNICO essay contest, which highlights the accomplishments of Italian Americans. 

Jeff wrote about Enrico Fermi, who won a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1937. Jason’s essay focused on Frank Sinatra, who received over 20 musical awards in his career and many humanitarian honors as well. Congratulating the students are Robert Tarte (at center), Vice President of the Westfield UNICO chapter, and President Vince Tomasso. Attending the award presentation was Social Studies teacher, Adam Pizzi.
