It truly is a shame that school activities and programs once fully funded by our tax dollars now have to rely on fund raising such as this. Where does all the property tax money allocated for such things go nowadays?

Actually, i wonder why the town does not pick up xmas trees. I have never lived anywhere else that residents have to dispose of trees themselves. The high school is doing a helpful service.

This is a great fundraiser and we have taken advantage of it. I wish more would. I don't understand why townspeople are complaining about having to cart their own trees to the conservation area - for free. Non-Christians do not have Christmas trees, so why would they need to have their tax dollars spent on having to pay DPW employees to pick up dead trees left in the street?

Maybe because after most of the tax money goes to the school system there isn't much left.

I have to give this group kudos as they are providing a service to earn their $$$ ! So much better than the groups that do nothing more than "pan-handle" in town
