Westfield 6th Graders Claim Geography Bee Titles

Students have since taken a written test as the next step to advance to the state level competition in the spring.

The winners of the Westfield Public School Geography Bee for 2013 are 6th Graders, Colby Chen, from Edison Intermediate School (pictured with 7thgrader Alex Fonseca, who placed second, Principal Matthew Bolton, and Social Studies Supervisor Andrea Brennan) and Jasper Lemberg from Roosevelt Intermediate School (pictured with 8th grader Paul Vernick who placed second, and Principal Stewart Carey).

Colby and Jasper have since taken a written test as the next step to advance to the state level competition in the spring. Tests are reviewed in the next few months, with the National Geographic Society notifying schools of state contenders. Last year, the state Bee was held in May at Rowan University with Westfield representation.
