Public Invited to Ribbon Cutting at WHS Fitness Center

The new facility was made possible through a collaboration of funding from the Westfield Board of Education and donations from the Westfield Booster Association, town youth programs, and individuals in the community.

The following is an invitation from the Westfield School District:

The administration and athletic department are excited to open our new state-of-the art WHS Fitness Center. We would like to invite you to attend our “ribbon cutting” ceremony on Thursday, September 6, at 7 p.m.  The Fitness Center entrance is located on Trinity Place.

The WHS Fitness Center has been completely renovated with machine weights, free weights, four types of cardiovascular machines, and TRX suspension devices.  Students will be present to demonstrate the benefits of the new equipment. This new facility was made possible through a collaboration of funding from the Westfield Board of Education and donations from the Westfield Booster Association, town youth programs, and individuals in the community.

The WHS Fitness Center will allow us to effectively meet the core curriculum standards of our Physical Education Department while also providing strength and conditioning equipment for our student athletes. Wellness continues to be an ongoing initiative in the Westfield schools. This fitness center reflects the shared vision of our school district and community to promote a healthy lifestyle for our children.
