Photo: Dolan and Board of Ed Welcome New Teachers at Breakfast

The Board of Education Thursday morning officially welcomed Westfield's new teachers to the district during a breakfast. The breakfast was the culmination of the district's new teacher orientation this week, which included a series of workshops at Westfield High School on various aspects of the school system. In addition, the new teachers spent two afternoons at their schools learning individual school operating procedures.

Sitting at left are Matt Kalafat, a new English teacher at Roosevelt, and Lori Simpson a new special education teacher at Roosevelt. At far right is Mirjana Banic, a new physical education teacher at Roosevelt. To the left of Banic is Joe Marino, a physical education teacher at Roosevelt, who will be mentoring Banic this year.
