McKinley Students Honor Andreski

Retiring principal feted by students during Friday assembly.

Claudia Andreski's days as principal of McKinley School are drawing to a close and her students and faculty are determined to give her a proper sendoff.

During a special Friday morning assembly, Andreski was celebrated for her personality and contributions to the school community. These included her famed reading challenges and encouragement to students to "work hard and do their best."

Andreski watched a slide show of her life, including her career as a teacher at Jefferson School and as assistant principal of Franklin School, along with her time as the PTO president at McKinley. Students also showed off a special video they put together for Andreski celebrating her contributions to McKinley.

A visibly moved Andreski addressed the students, telling them how much she has enjoyed her time at McKinley and how she will miss working with them. After leading the student body in the school song, "Everybody Loves McKinley," Andreski was in for one more surprise.

The McKinley faculty recreated the song as "Everybody Loves Andreski," with the students serenading their principal.
