Martins Honored for Being Welcoming Presence at WHS

Campus supervisor congratulated by BOE.

Visitors to Westfield High School are likely to first see Terry Martins, a campus supervisor charged with welcoming visitors, keeping the parking lot orderly and providing a sense of security to the Dorian Road campus.

Martins, who has been with the school district for eight years, was honored by the Board of Education Tuesday night for winning the Foos Award for her contributions to education in Westfield. During remarks at the meeting, BOE President Julia Walker summed up the role that Martins plays at the high school.

"She makes sure that the students, staff and visitors are welcomed," Walker said. "Terry watches out for everyone and makes everyone's day better."
